Anima, Animus and Shadow

In this body of work, I delve into the complex interplay of anima, animus, and shadow—archetypes that shape our inner worlds and subtly surface in the physical. Through print, and photography, these pieces aim to render the intangible palpable, illustrating the duality of human nature and the shadow self that often lies unspoken beneath the surface.

The works juxtapose light and shadow, clarity and obscurity, aiming to capture that liminal space where internal and external worlds meet. The interplay of shapes and muted tones suggests not only the physical shadows but also the psychological ones. Those parts of ourselves we keep hidden or perhaps have yet to acknowledge. The red circles punctuating the images stand as symbols of vitality and consciousness, breaking through the monochromatic stillness as markers of presence and self-awareness within the fog of the unconscious.

In exploring anima and animus, the work reflects both the feminine and masculine energies that coexist within each individual, manifesting in abstract forms that shift and merge. They are neither fully known nor entirely concealed, representing an ongoing journey toward balance and wholeness. The shadow, meanwhile, is cast by this dance, a reflection of our deepest fears, suppressed emotions, and hidden potentials. By bringing these aspects into visual space, I invite viewers to confront their own layers and explore the fluid boundaries between their inner worlds and external identities.

Each piece encourages introspection, allowing viewers to sense the unspoken dialogue within themselves and to step momentarily into their own shadow. This work is an invitation to see, accept, and integrate, to find beauty in the unseen, and to embrace the full spectrum of what it means to be human.
