Artist Profile
Nom de plume: Hassi
Born and raised in the historic city of Fes, Hassi has been painting since childhood. His creative foundation was laid early—rooted in emotion, curiosity, and observation. Over time, this foundation has evolved across cities and cultures, shaped by a life lived in constant motion.
Now based in Helsinki, he works professionally as an AI Scientist, contributing to cutting-edge production projects that push the boundaries of technology. But it is at the intersection of art and science—of raw emotion and high logic—that his creative voice finds its clearest expression.
His current and ongoing exploration is Giants of the Cosmos, a visual world that seems endless in scope. In this expansive body of work, he delves into the contradictions of humanity: how we live in a world of satellites, artificial intelligence, and endless information, yet still send soldiers into battle; how we still choose destruction over dialogue, force over understanding.
His paintings explore this quiet madness.
Each piece captures the paradox of being human in a world that’s advanced in knowledge but stagnant in wisdom. Faceless figures, mechanical gestures, and surreal environments represent our fragmented evolution: we build machines that think, but we fail to think differently.
There’s no clear villain here—only a shared blindness, a tension between potential and behavior. Through form and color, he searches for the soul in the machine, and the machine in the soul.
Giants of the Cosmos is more than a theme—it is a lens through which to understand power, choice, and emotional inertia. These works embody the weight of decisions, the pull of faith, and the timeless collision between instinct and intellect. Some figures build. Others destroy. Some reach toward understanding, while others retreat into the comfort of control.
This is a cosmos where emotions take form, gestures become language, and silence speaks volumes. And still, the question remains: Who will step forward first?
